[edit] Introduction
Nod's Turret is the only defense against ground units which doesn't need power to function. Effective against tanks when it is placed in key locations, this small defense unit can deal a lot of damage to light and medium armoured targets. It is highly ineffective against flying units.
[edit] Attacking a Turret
If you are attacking using infantry, either use an anti-armour weapon, such as the Rocket Launcher or the Personal Ion Cannon. Furthermore, it requires only one piece of Timed C4 to destroy a turret, provided that you can place it on the turret, and the C4 is not disarmed. If you are using a tank, than any GDI tank is capable of destroying an undefended Turret by itself, although you will take a considerable degree of damage. ("Tank" means MRLS, Medium Tank or Mammoth Tank)
In both cases it is effective to move in and out of the Turret's range or to take cover behind a rock or wall if the enviroment allows. In the case of the MRLS, it is normally possible to destroy the turret from out of range, thus preventing the Turret from returning fire.
[edit] Defending a Turret
It is normally worth (Due to the slow rate of fire of the Nod Obelisk) keeping your Turrets alive. If your base is under attack, then supporting the turret with a technician or engineer is a helpful thing to do. Note that a good tactic for GDI is to place [[Timed C4] onto Turrets, so after (or during) attacks, ensure that there is no Timed C4 on your Turrets - if there is, disarm it!
