[edit] Introduction

The Mobile Rocket Launcher System, is GDI's long range weapon. It has a very long range making it ideal for assaulting the Nod. They can barrage them from afar with missiles, making even there speed not enough to avoid the damage! And since Nod tanks do only a medium range to fire from, they will have trouble when confronting the MLRS from a long distance.

Many find it strange when buying an MRLS, why should you? A Medium tank is so much better then the weak MRLS! Well the MRLS has many uses! For instance, it can fire from safe places and still hit the Nod base while a Medium or other tank needs to be in a direct line to fire at the target! Also the MRLS is the only tank wich can fire around corners.

A second and almost unknown feature the MRLS has is the ability to fire it missiles on 2 ways! The first way is by left clicking with the mouse button. This way the missiles fire from both sides of the missiles launcher in volley's of six.

The second way is by using the right mouse button, this way all the missiles will come from the left side of launcher thus making it possible to hit smaller targets with more accuracy! One should not underestimate the possibility's to target a small enemy and do better damage!

An example is if a light tank is hiding for a part behind an object, then the MRLS should use it's second attack mode. This way all the rockets will hit (unless the light falls back behind the object) while normally only half if half of the missiles would make contact!

It is worth the money! Especially if you can get one to attack a building!

Does massive splash damage! Almost the biggest of all GDI tanks.

An extra passenger can always come in handy! Tough most of the time you won't have one.

The MRLS's strength is in his awesome power. 8-12 full volleys from this tank is able to take down any building.

  • Very strong attack power.
  • Can fire while the rest of the body is behind an obstacle.
  • Does major splash damage
  • Can fire around corners
  • Can hit air units, if the player aims carefully.

The MRLS, even though it has some big strengths, has some major weaknesses!

  • A sniper can kill an MRLS if it doesn't get any support from engineers or hotwires.
  • The launcher cannot turn independently from the vehicle, so a flank or attack from behind can be fatal!
  • The engine is very weak, making the MRLS slow if it tries to climb a hill (tough it is somewhat faster then the artie).
  • The MRLS doesn't have alot of armor being an easy target for almost everything that get's to close.
  • A small target can be hard for an MRLS to fully hit! use therefor it's secondary weapon to compensate!

Even though most people say GDI can't do sieges with MRLS. GDI can perform sieges with the MRLS perfectly! They will only need a few engineers nearby or a Medium tank or two for extra backup! And if the HON is down, the MRLS have almost nothing to fear. (Especially in group.)

This is because if the Hand of NOD is down, Nod can't buy any new sniper to there group and only snipers are really effective cause of there extreme range and power. While Nod tanks can try to attack a group of MRLS, they will most likely fail cause of the many missiles being fired at them. 1 full volley of missiles from an MRLS do more damage then 1 stank can do (Which is above 90!) so a small group of these tanks can tear down any Nod defense! If supported of course...

MRLS sieges are very well known on the map Field, where either GDI or Nod is besieging the enemy firing at the WF (for Nod) or at the HON (for GDI)... But since the gap at the Nod base is actually much smaller then at GDI's base the MRLS can do much less damage because of this.

The MLRS, even though they are weak, have there uses! Especially if ithas some cover, or when Nod is occupied by a group of GDI's stronger tanks!
